INKA TRAIL - DAY 4
WIÑAY WAYNA – INTI PUNKU – MACHU PICCHU
03:30 am wake up call, how awful…It doesn’t matter how many times in my life I’ve been up so early I won’t get use to. After packing my duffle bag and getting ready I sat for breakfast at 4:00 am, I couldn’t eat much but the table was full of food, pancakes, roast potatoes, porridge and more, they obviously tried to get rid of the food leftovers.
After breakfast we walked to the last checking point (05 min), the one the was still closed since opens at 5:30 am and there was a lot people who was waiting for longer than me and all standing, or seating in my case, for the gate to open, it was pitch black; I only could see the flash lights blinding me; it wasn’t nice at all, but I think I was a bit moody for the early wake up.

INKA TRAIL - DAY 3
CHAKICOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA
This third day a wonderful easy day, of course any day compared with the second day seems like a very easy day, but honestly it is very nice, after walking the third and last pass it was time for me to enjoy the extraordinary landscape surrounding me. Orchids are easy to spot here; don’t miss the Machu Picchu Orchid you will recognize it for its intense fuchsia color.
Well, this day was all the way down hill, and for those who think going up is harder you may try do this after two days walking. I congratulated myself for bringing my walking stick, it was extremely helpful that day since my leg muscle were already relaxed and every step gave that funny pain.

INKA TRAIL - DAY 2
THE CHALLENGING ONE! (a.k.a. Hell of an exhausting day)
YUNCACHIMPA – DEAD WOMAN PASS – PACAYMAYU- CHAKICOCHA
(Around 06 to 10 hours walking session)
Early morning, 07 am waked up with hot tea and hot water to wash my face. The after a delicious breakfast was a waste, Yesterday after the heavy lunch I had tea with a lot of pop corn and dinner only two hours after, I went to my tent with enough food in my stomach to survive a week, of course digestion was very slow at that altitude.
Our guide, Max, reminded us about the “challenging day” coming, so with my mind prepared for the worst I stared walking all the way up hill. I have to admit that the first two hours are quite enjoyable since I was walking thru a Queñua Forest and I love walking in the shade, the sound of the hidden river is the perfect sound track for the morning. After 02 hours I made the resting point where you can buy snacks for last time and use toilets.
